Ways to Get to the Airport Without Driving

Posted on 2020-12-23 by Holly J. Roy

Many people have the environment in mind when it comes to getting around town, and getting to the airport is no different. Oftentimes, there are a number of options to reach your flight in plenty of time without taking your own car. The benefit to using alternative transportation means you don’t have to leave your car at the airport during your trip and pay for overnight parking. Taking another mode of transportation can be easy and save you money. Here are some alternatives to driving your own car to the airport.

Take a Shuttle

Many airports have sister companies that offer transportation from neighboring areas for those who don’t want to leave their car at the airport. Some of these companies offer specialized pick-ups from your own home, or they offer a pick-up from a single location in your town. You can usually discover a shuttle company by simply typing in “bus to airports in Houston” or whatever city you need.

Carpool

If you know that someone else is going to the airport at the same time, carpool! Carpooling is a fantastic way to save money on gas and limit the number of vehicles on the road. Many interstates even supply special parking lots where you can meet up with others and leave your cars for extended periods of time in order to carpool.

Take a Bus

In many large cities, local transportation is a key part of functioning life. Take advantage of your city transportation by taking the bus to the airport. Not only is it an affordable option, but it can save you gas money and mileage on your own car. It isn’t unusual for cities to have a main line that runs directly to the airport for traveling convenience. You can usually find a bus stop time that works with your flight departure.
